Seed Planting with our Junior Gardeners - featuring Alessandra

This past weekend, our Junior Gardeners program planted some vegetable seeds which they will take care of and grow over the next few weeks! Watch this video if you'd like to learn how to plant vegetable seeds while planting alongside our team. 🌱🌱 Here are the steps that the staff followed to plant the seeds:🌱🌱 1. Fill the pots with soil about 3/4 full. Make sure to set aside extra soil to cover the seeds with later. 2. Place 3-4 seeds per pot. Don't mix different plant seeds in one pot because each plant has different needs such as amount of water and sun. 3. Using the extra soil from step 1, cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil. 4. Water the seeds in the pot. You know you've watered it enough if water is coming out the bottom holes of the pot. To avoid a mess when watering, make sure to put the pots on a tray or space that can catch the excess water. For now, it only needs to be watered once a week. 5. Place the pots near a window or somewhere that they can get some sun. You'll see seedlings start to sprout within a few days. ~~~~~~~~ Did you enjoy this activity and want to share with us how it went?
